E. Spring and Chestnut Streets, St. Marys

The park displays the heritage of St. Marys and reflects on the international relationships  between the city and Lienen, Germany, and Awaji City, Japan. Three murals reflecting the history of St. Marys  hang on the east wall in Heritage Park and a restored art deco fountain forms the centerpiece pocket park.

Named after a local artist, art critic and supervisor of art in the Greenville School System for over thirty years, the Anna Bier Gallery has fulfilled Ms. Bier's wish for a place in Greenville where people of all colors, all creeds and all walks of life can work for development of artistic skills and higher cultural standards for our community. DCCA is a community arts council whose purpose is to promote all art forms within the county and to expand opportunities for cultural enrichment. DCCA is also committed to the restoration and preservation of the Henry St. Clair Memorial Hall as an important cultural center.

With strong support from our community, DCCA has presented an Artists Series for the past 25 years. In cooperation with Darke County and Greenville City schools, Arts in Education was added to the programming schedule in 1983. The Family Theatre Series was inaugurated in 1997, broadening DCCA's audience to include families with very young children. Each of these activities brings high quality performing artists into the community, inspiring and enriching lives.

When your eyes rest on this gorgeous Tudor mansion adjacent to the Miami County Courthouse, you will be amazed at its beauty.  The Hayner mansion was built in 1914 by the widow of William Hayner, the former owner of the Hayner Distillery Company.  

The Center presents fine quality and a wide variety of exhibits, classes, concerts and recitals. The building is open to the public, and is available as meeting space or private party space.

Every jewelry and gem related topic is covered from the science of geology to the design and creation of stunning custom jewelry. Twenty-two display cases of beautiful, handcrafted jewelry adorn their spectacular shop. Diamonds, gems, polished stones, gold, sterling, and crystals can all be found in their natural brilliance. Questions from their guests are highly encouraged. Allison’s Custom Jewelry offers design, repair, and appraisal services six days a week as one of the Miami Valley’s largest full service jewelry stores.

The Wassenberg Art Center was founded by prosperous peony farmer, Charles Wassenberg, who died in 1954 and left a trust fund to establish an art center “where art could flourish in Van Wert as the peonies have flourished in my garden.”    Today, the art center, which has been favorably compared with upscale galleries in New York and other large cities, presents an average of eight different and unique free exhibits each year.  It is also home to the Van Wert County Art Club and the Wassenberg Camera Club. They also offer classes and workshops for people of all ages.

Organized in 1959, the Van Wert Civic Theater is a mainstay in the cultural life of the Van Wert community.  The award-winning Van Wert Civic Theatre is recognized as one of the premiere community theatres in the state of Ohio. As a member of the Ohio Community Theatre Association, VWCT has become a consistent winner of awards for both acting and technical performances in state-wide competition. The all-volunteer theatre group produces five shows per season, offering a balanced variety of comedy, drama and music, in their own 170-seat playhouse, and also sponsors a summer youth theatre program.

All concerts in the Fountain Park Music Series are free to the public, sponsored by The Van Wert County Foundation.  The Friday evening summer concerts bring to Van Wert outstanding regional and national artists. A feel of yesteryear is encouraged as you are invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket and relax to some beautiful music and enjoy good food with friends, under the stars.  Local non-profit groups offer a menu of summer cuisine to round out the family atmosphere.

The Niswonger Performing Arts Center of Northwest Ohio, opened its doors in the spring of 2007.  Since then, this state-of-the-art entertainment facility has, and continues to provide wold class entertainment to the surrounding region.  The NPAC provides opportunities for educational, inspirational, and cultural enjoyment and growth through a variety of artists, Broadway, dance, lectures and more.  The 1,200 seat music hall, 175 seat lecture hall and spacious lobbies of this $9.9 million facility offer many amenities that are available for the community and school to use.  Operating the facility, the Van Wert Area Performing Arts Foundation continues to schedule exciting programming each season.  Owned by the Van Wert City Schools, the facility also offers a unique performing arts venue for the local school district.
